How to Help or Volunteer
An inspiring trait of our Coastal Virginia community is our resiliency and generosity in difficult times. We stand by each other and act when others are in need. These past few weeks, our office has fielded questions from your neighbors about how they can give back, help others in need, and support our nation as we face the COVID-19 pandemic together. That’s why I wanted to share with you today updated guidance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency regarding how you can help during this national health emergency.
Recently, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) created guidelines for people who want to help during this national health emergency. Licensed or trained health care professionals can volunteer to provide critical care and services to the community. Private sector partners may provide urgent relief by selling or donating medical equipment and supplies to the federal government. To sell equipment or supplies, you can submit a quote here. If you are seeking to donate medical equipment and supplies, please fill out the form here.
National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD) has also created a page with information on how to volunteer and help. You can find it here.
