Today, Congresswoman Elaine Luria announced that many Coastal Virginians who receive VA benefits could expect Economic Impact payments to begin arriving this week. Many Coastal Virginians have already received Economic Impact Payments, which were part of the American Rescue Plan, which Congresswoman Luria voted to pass in March.

Today, Congresswoman Elaine Luria announced the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) allocated $2,624,138 in federal COVID-19 relief grants to the City of Virginia Beach and Virginia Port Authority. These grants come from FEMA’s Disaster Fund, which received $45 billion from the CARES Act, which Congresswoman Elaine Luria voted for last year.

Congresswoman Elaine Luria today introduced legislation to secure benefits for military veterans exposed to toxic substances during their service in the Middle East, Southwest Asia, East Africa, and the Philippines. The Conceding Our Veterans’ Exposure Now and Necessitating Training (COVENANT) Act is the first bill addressing toxic exposure to include both a comprehensive list of overseas locations that would qualify a veteran for earned benefits, as well as a comprehensive list of presumptive illnesses contracted as a result of airborne exposure.
