Congresswoman Elaine Luria Tours Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters
NORFOLK – Congresswoman Elaine Luria (VA-02) on Friday toured a local children’s hospital, meeting with hospital leadership, medical personnel, and other staff members to learn more about children’s health challenges in Hampton Roads.
At Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters in Norfolk, Congresswoman Luria spoke with local reporters before touring the hospital and holding a roundtable to discuss mental health issues, funding, and other pressing priorities.
During the tour, Congresswoman Luria visited the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Child Life Services, and more.
“I’m grateful to the leaders of Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters for the opportunity to tour the facility and meet the team,” Congresswoman Luria said. “There’s a growing demand for mental health care for children, and it’s visits like these that allow elected officials to better understand what we can do to provide better care for Hampton Roads and beyond.”
Congresswoman Elaine Luria represents Virginia’s 2nd Congressional District. She serves on the House Armed Services Committee, where she is the Vice Chair of the Seapower and Projection Forces Subcommittee, and the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, where she serves as Chair of the Disability Assistance and Memorial Affairs Subcommittee.
