Statement On House Passage of Bipartisan Infrastructure Framework
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congresswoman Elaine Luria today issued the following statement after the U.S. House of Representatives voted to advance the Bipartisan Infrastructure Framework and President Biden’s Build Back Better Plan:
“I strongly support the Bipartisan Infrastructure Framework, which will ensure Hampton Roads can fully recover from the economic setbacks caused by the pandemic and put Virginians back to work. This important legislation will provide generational investments rebuilding our roads and bridges, strengthening the Port of Virginia, and protecting against rising sea levels — while creating thousands of good-paying jobs.
“I also voted today to advance a budget resolution so congressional committees can begin crafting legislation that will deliver on key priorities such as lowering health care costs, addressing climate change, and cutting taxes for working families. I hope to work closely with my colleagues in the House and Senate to craft targeted legislation that will achieve these goals.”
Congresswoman Elaine Luria represents Virginia’s 2nd Congressional District. She serves on the House Armed Services Committee, where she is the committee’s Vice Chair, the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, where she serves as Chair of the Disability Assistance and Memorial Affairs Subcommittee, and the House Committee on Homeland Security.
